The Workshop Art & Craft Gallery opened in 2009 in the historic village of Bathurst in the Eastern Cape and now showcases over 100 talented exhibitors.
In 2009 Mark & Margie purchased and renovated a 1948 double-storey building on the main road in Bathurst. It was originally built as a workshop and fuel filling station and they renamed it The Workshop Art & Craft Gallery. They started with only Mark's 'Benchmark' garden and patio furniture, Margie's handwoven mats and shawls, ex-Zimbabwean artist Nicky Rosselli Monty's 'Big (indigenous) Trees' and Pat Burnett's famous faerie t-shirts.
The gallery now showcases over 100 talented local regional and international permanent exhibitors.
We welcome you to browse for something unusual - inspired - provocative - indigenous - handcrafted - unique - recycled - antique - organic - at Bathurst's First Stop - The Workshop.
